Ambassador of Azerbaijan visits Summit’s Power Plant in Narayanganj

(Narayanganj, Bangladesh) March 18, 2019: Recently His Excellency Dr Ashraf Shikhaliyev, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka along with Deputy Chief of Mission Babak Ahmadov visited the Summit Narayanganj Power Plant - Unit I & II (165 MW) in invitation of Vice-Chairman of Summit Group Jafer Ummeed Khan.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan remarked, “It was of high interest to get to know the work process of the power plant (of Summit Narayanganj). I was impressed by the good management and the beautiful location of the plant.”
Vice-Chairman of Summit Group Jafer Ummeed Khan said, “Azerbaijan has successfully implemented 100 per cent electrification for its entire population which we in Bangladesh is striving to accomplish.”
Azerbaijan and Bangladesh shares a warm bilateral relationship. During the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991, Bangladesh recognized it at early stage. Bangladesh exports pharmaceuticals products to Azerbaijan.
